Rare 1940s T.M. Phelps Brass Bug Belt

Rare black leather belt circa 1940s made by T.M. Phelps, an American designer whose collection is archived at the Met Museum and pictured in a 1944 Vogue market editorial spread. Features handmade brass cicada and sunburst hardware and signed brass buckle.

Brass shows some patina, but belt is in good condition overall with little wear to leather. Beautiful, sturdy, ready to wear.
